Barrington's Plan for 21st Century Learning:

Upcoming Collaboration time and training dates:

October 20, 2009 from 3:00 - 4:00 p.m. Toby, Andrea, Kris, Jason? Carol Craven?
  • Tech Offering Day
    • Use Oct. 20 tech offering day as coaches meeting with small groups.
    • Break into 4 groups to cover basic things like save to the server, etc.
    • We would need at least 4 coaches to be successful. Coaches will check their availability.
    • Coaches would also like to include a 21st Century Lesson example within this meeting time.
    • Use some of the topics from the 21st Century Coaches PD Plan as our building tech offerings
    • Carol will schedule 4 meeting areas and block lab and mobile lab
    • *We need to be sure that iWork 09 in on all the machines that teachers will be using today

November 3, 2009 from 3:00 - 4:00 p.m. Martha, Alexa, Jeanne, Toby, Andrea, Kris
  • Data Analysis Introduction
    • Break into two groups - Primary and Secondary
    • Will need at least 2 coaches to facilitate
    • Carol will schedule and block lab
  • Teachers need to bring student data with them
  • After introduction, teachers will have time to begin work in Numbers
  • *We need to be sure that iWork 09 in on all the machines that teachers will be using today

November 4, 2009 from 8:00 - 4:00 p.m. Martha, Alexa, Toby, Jeanne, Andrea, Kris Data Analysis by Grade Level
  • Each Grade level will have one hour to work with coaches to organize and interpret student data
  • Goal is to organize student data to inform classroom instruction
  • Carol will schedule and block lab
  • ***We need to be sure that iWork 09 in on all the machines that teachers will be using today

Goal for 21st Century Coaches - created with focus from UA Strategic Plan
  • Want teachers to be purposeful in choosing tools to embed technology into curriculum instead of being an "add-on"

Discussion on "What Does Teacher and Coach Collaboration Look Like?"
  • Coaches are a resource to help with service learning, etc.
  • Coaches are here to support teachers with technology embedded projects

  • Barrington teachers would appreciate a new set of directions for accessing server from home
  • Teachers are finding that software has been removed. Graph Club? Any others?
  • Is there a target date for Kidspiration, Inspiration and EM Games to be loaded on all desktop machines at Barrington?
  • Can these programs be pushed out or do they each need to be installed individually?
